The beaches in the 6.6-square-mile hamlet of Amagansett are tranquil with broad stretches of dunes and plenty of solitude. Main Street is filled with just enough restaurants and shops to spend a few hours shopping and grabbing a bite after the beach.
This beautiful sprawling ocean beach is a favorite of the younger crowd and can be rowdy on weekends and holidays. Get here early to find paid parking, the lot is sizeable for the Hamptons but fills up quickly on most summer days.

This beach can be quiet busy on summer weekends with surfers and wakeboarders if the swells are large enough. Although there are no lifeguards here, on calm days, it's the perfect beach for children as the sand is vast for games and erecting sand castles and the waves are quite gentle.
