Amagansett Beaches

The beaches in the 6.6-square-mile hamlet of Amagansett are tranquil with broad stretches of dunes and plenty of solitude. Main Street is filled with just enough restaurants and shops to spend a few hours shopping and grabbing a bite after the beach.

Atlantic Avenue Beach, Amagansett

Atlantic Avenue Beach

Overview

This beautiful sprawling ocean beach is a favorite of the younger crowd and can be rowdy on weekends and holidays. Get here early to find paid parking, the lot is sizeable for the Hamptons but fills up quickly on most summer days.

Facilities

Parking: $25 daily parking, free shuttles from town or a 20-minute walk from the LIRR Amagansett stop.

Lifeguards: On duty in season 9am-5pm 

Concession:  Yes

Facilities: Restrooms and outdoor showers

Restrictions: No camping, no fishing without free NY State marine fishing registration

Albert's Landing Beach

Albert's Landing Beach "Big Albert's Beach"

Overview

A favorite spot for families and locals, this quiet beach is located on Gardiner’s Bay, and its calmer waters are fantastic for boating and swimming. Great spot for Fourth of July firework viewing of CT. Location of the East Hampton Town Lifeguard Program training and competitions during the summer. There is ample parking, although an East Hampton Town resident beach parking pass is required at all times.

Facilities: Restroom, BBQ grill, picnic table, beach wheelchairs, hiking, trash can

Barnes Hole

Barnes Hole

Overview

This beach is located on the western rim of Gardiner's bay with a view of Napeague Bay in the distance providing expansive views of the water.

Facilities

Parking: Town permit required at all times

Lifeguards: No. Swimming Prohibited.

Concession: No

Facilities: No

Restrictions: No camping or bonfires

Fresh Pond Beach, Amagansett

Fresh Pond

Overview

Located on the edge of Fresh Pond Park in Amagansett, this beach offers a beautiful view of Napeague Bay and calm, shallow waters. Great location for bird watching and crabbing. The Town of East Hampton runs its Sailing Instructing Program from the beach. Fresh Pond can be reserved by East Hampton Town Residents by calling the East Hampton Town Parks Department.

Indian Wells

Indian Wells Beach

Overview

This beach can be quiet busy on summer weekends with surfers and wakeboarders if the swells are large enough. Although there are no lifeguards here, on calm days, it's the perfect beach for children as the sand is vast for games and erecting sand castles and the waves are quite gentle.

Lazy Point

Lazy Point

Overview

If you turn north, just before the infamous Clam Shack on27E-W, you will hit Napeague Meadow Road. At the end of Napeague Meadow Road is the intersection of Lazy Point Road. Turning left will bring you to Lazy Point, a community rich in history. The water views on this narrow stretch of beach will have you reaching for your camera or iphone. Great for beach walks and surfing.

Little Albert's Landing Beach

Little Albert's Landing

Overview

Located just east of Big Albert's Landing, this peaceful bay beach is dog-friendly and a prime location for watching the yearly Devon Yacht Club Fireworks over Gardiner's Bay. There''s also a  small brook that flows out to the bay complete with tree swings to fly across. Please call the Town ahead to reserve a space.
